The course is a combined course with CCNY students and participants in NYC's broad housing justice movement. It focuses on the role of narrative and storytelling in policy change, with a focus on contemporary housing politics. It connects personal narrative development with larger movement narratives, and examines the stakes in the kinds of narratives offered and the elements of politically effective messaging. Students will also prepare their own narratives for a variety of audiences (e.g., testimony, TikTok, etc.).
