Course Title

Anthropology Beyond Academia

Description

From tech to television, anthropologists have been called to offer their perspective in spaces beyond academia. But how does one actually make the leap from the academic world to the applied world of anthropologists? In this interactive course, students will dive into solving real world scenarios using research skills and frameworks from anthropology. Some scenarios include: how can anthropologists help a finance corporation become more socially conscious? How can anthropologists help resolve clashing objectives within a large non-profit? Students will develop the skills necessary to translate their academic backgrounds to speak to the values of business, non-profit, etc. and be able to better navigate the job opportunities within the world of applied anthropology.
